So, you just got a Leopard Gecko. It seems so cute, you just can't resist touching or handling it! But wait! Don't do it! It is very bad for the Leopard Geckos health. You should keep him or her in it's cage for about 4-5 days. Your new friend needs time to get used to it's cage. If someone moved you from one house to the next and then started taking you places you would feel scared. This is what you Leopard Gecko feels like. Once you finish leaving him or her alone, you can start putting your hand in its cage. Do this for 2-3 days. Once your Gecko gets used to your smell, you can start to touch it. If it jumps or even bites you might want to go back a step. If not do this for 2-3 more day. Then you can pick them up. You do this by scooping the Leopard Gecko up. NEVER grab them by their tail. This may cause them to bite or in some cases drop their tail. To scoop your Leopard Gecko up, you put your left hand on the floor and then take your right hand and pick up him or her in the other side. Now you little friend should be in you hand.  Slowly come out of the cage. If you feel the Leo moving slightly set them down in there cage. Keep trying until you succed! Eventully your Leopard Gecko will be tame.
